Commander Keith W. King

Cmdr. Keith W. King, a native of Sunset, Texas, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1991, and after boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Aviation Boatswains Mate Fuels “A” school. King was promoted to chief petty officer in September 2002 and was commissioned in 2005 under the Limited Duty Officer program.

His enlisted assignments include USS Cape Cod (AD 43); USS Belleau Wood (LHA 3); Training Squadron (VT) 21; USS Nashville (LPD 13) and Recruit Training Command.

King's commissioned officer assignments include limited duty officer and chief warrant officer at the Academy aboard Officer Training Command; USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67); USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74); Navy Recruiting District San Antonio; USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6); Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit (CNATTU) Norfolk; John C. Stennis (CVN 74) for a second tour; and Naval Aviation Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst. 

King reported to CNATTU Whidbey Island as commanding officer in August 2023. 

His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (seven awards) and various unit commendations, campaign ribbons and awards.
