Commander Sheree T. Williams

Commander Sherée T. Williams was born in Evanston, Illinois and enlisted in the Navy in 1996 as a Hospital Corpsman. Upon completion of Hospital Corps School, she reported to the National Naval Medical Center (NNMC) in Bethesda, MD, where she was selected for the Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST) Program in 1998.
 
She attended Florida A&M University, where she received a Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematical Sciences and earned her Commission in the United States Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer, Nuclear Option in 2003. 
 
Her earlier duty assignments include USS MUSTIN (DDG-89), where she served as STRIKE Officer and Assistant Weapons Officer and earned her SWO pin;  USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV-67) as the Electrical Division Officer; Recruit Training Command as the Technical Training Director, Assistant Military Training Director, and Security Manager; Great Lakes Maritime Academy (GLMA) as the OIC; Navy Recruiting District Miami as the Recruiting Operations Program Officer, and Officer Programs Officer Department Head; and Regional Enlisted Programs Officer Department Head for Navy Recruiting Region West. 
 
While serving onboard KENNEDY, she earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Human Resources and later laterally transferred to the Human Resources Community in 2008.  CDR Williams attended the Naval War College in-residence program, where she obtained a second Master of Arts Degree in Defense and Strategic Studies, and was selected for The Gravely Group graduate research project. 
 
Upon completing studies at the Naval War College, Commander Williams served as the National Officer Programs Officer Director at Command Navy Recruiting Command.  She also served as Head of Enlisted Distribution Support for Navy Personnel Command, and Chief of Staff at Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI).  
 
Commander Williams currently serves as the Director, Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) at Naval Service Training Command, Great Lakes, where she supervises 47 civilian personnel, 1250 NJROTC Instructors, and 75,000 cadets worldwide.  
 
Her personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy Achievement Medal (four awards), and various other campaign, unit, and service awards.
