Lieutenant Commander Mark R. Gordon

Lt. Cmdr. Mark R. Gordon, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, received his commission in 2007 through Naval ROTC at Purdue University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering. 
                     
At sea, Gordon served as main propulsion assistant, damage control assistant, communications officer, and assistant operations officer aboard USS Scranton (SSN 756), deploying to U.S. Central Command and U.S. European Command (USEUCOM). He served as weapons officer aboard USS New Mexico (SSN 779), completing a USEUCOM deployment, and as navigator on Pre-Commissioning Unit Vermont (SSN 792).

His shore duties include two tours at Naval Submarine School as a tactics instructor and assistant weapons officer and at Undersea Warfighting Development Center, Tactical Analysis Group as the tactical development department action officer.

Gordon currently serves as the executive officer for the Submarine Learning Center.

Gordon’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards).
