Lieutenant Commander Alexander T. “Roadtrip” Buschor

Lt. Cmdr. Buschor, a native of Long Island, New York, attended the State University of New York College at Oneonta and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 2008. After commissioning through Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island in 2008, he began naval flight officer training in Pensacola, Florida, selected E-2 Hawkeyes, and earned his wings of gold in Norfolk, Virginia in 2010. Buschor also completed a Master of Arts in Military History from American Military University and Joint Professional Military Education - Phase 1 through the U.S. Naval War College.

At sea, he served with “The Wallbangers” of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 117 stationed at Point Mugu, California, where he deployed aboard USS Nimitz (CVN 68) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and finished his tour as assistant operations officer. As a catapult and arresting gear officer aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) homeported in San Diego, California, he led a department of 170 personnel, deploying in support of OEF and Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. He attained his command duty officer - underway qualification and was selected for operational - training department head.

His shore tours include instructor duty with the VAW-120 “Greyhawks” of Norfolk, Virginia, as the E-2C radar subject matter expert and student control department head.

Buschor reported as officer in charge, Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Det. Point Mugu in September 2019.

Buschor’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
