Commanding Officer

Cmdr. Mike Salehi, a native of Fairfax, Virginia, graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He also holds an Associate of Arts in Persian-Farsi and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, graduating with distinction.

Originally commissioned in the Supply Corps, he laterally transferred to the cryptologic community in 2004 and subsequently reported to the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, where he completed the Persian-Farsi Basic Course.

His operational tours include serving as a supply officer aboard USS Philippine Sea (CG 58); director of intelligence at Joint Special Operations Task Force-Philippines; and fleet cryptologic resource coordinator, U.S. 7th Fleet, embarked aboard USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19).

His shore and staff assignments include supply department head and command comptroller at Naval Security Group Activity Maryland; senior watch officer and deputy branch chief at Navy Information Operations Command Georgia and National Security Agency Georgia; chief staff officer at Fleet Information Operations Center Georgia; chief of signals intelligence, intelligence operations and deputy director of intelligence at Special Operations Command, Pacific; deputy and acting branch chief at U.S Pacific Fleet; and operations director / Task Group 1070.1 commander, executive officer and deputy commander Task Force 1070 at Navy Information Operations Command Hawaii.

Salehi reported as commanding officer, Information Warfare Training Command Monterey in May 2018.

His military decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and multiple unit awards.

Executive Officer

Lt. Cmdr. Andrew T. Michalowicz, a native of Pasadena, Maryland, is a 2004 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Economics, and also earned a Master of Science in Cyber Systems and Operations from the Naval Postgraduate School.

Originally commissioned as a surface warfare officer, he was redesignated as an intelligence officer in 2007 and completed the Intelligence Officer Basic Course in 2008.

His operational and sea tours include serving as the anti-submarine warfare officer aboard USS Jarrett (FFG 33) in San Diego and as the tactical intelligence support officer in charge at the Kennedy Irregular Warfare Center providing support to Naval Special Warfare in Washington, D.C.

His shore and staff assignments include personnel analyst for Naval Surface Forces Pacific; collection/functional manager for the Office of Naval Intelligence; and as a duty director of intelligence for the operational intelligence watch and the executive assistant for the Intelligence Directorate at North American Aerospace Defense Command and United States Northern Command.

He reported as executive officer of Information Warfare Training Command Monterey, California, in February 2018.

A qualified information warfare officer and surface warfare officer, Michalowicz’ personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards) and various campaign, unit and service awards.

Command Master Chief

Master Chief Cryptologic Technician (Interpretive) Christopher C. Stevens, a native of Wichita, Kansas, calls Kansas City, Missouri home. He enlisted in the Navy in 1993, and after basic training at Recruit Training Command San Diego, he graduated from the Defense Language Institute in 1994 and completed training at Naval Security Group Activity Monterey and Naval Technical Training Center Detachment Goodfellow. He is designated a specialist in information and submarine warfare.

His assignments include Naval Security Group Activity Kunia; Naval Information Warfare Activity Suitland; Center for Information Dominance Detachment Monterey; Navy Information Operations Command Maryland; Center for Information Dominance; Naval Information Forces; and duty aboard 13 Pacific Fleet combatants.

He currently serves as the senior enlisted leader Information Warfare Training Command Monterey.

His decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), and various campaign and unit decorations.
