CNATT DET Eglin logo Overview

The Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Detachment (CNATTDET) Eglin Air Force Base was established March 14, 2011 as a result of the 2005 Congressionally-mandated Base Realignment and Closure that directed all training for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter be based at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. CNATTDET Eglin is a Navy/Marine Corps unit and is responsible for providing technical and maintenance training to Sailors and Marines on the F-35B and F-35C JSF variants.

Technical and maintenance training is conducted at the Academic Training Center, a 260,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility containing separate spaces for pilot and maintenance training. The maintenance training area consists of electronic classrooms, Aircraft System Maintenance Trainers, Weapons Load Trainers, Engine Trainers, and an Ejection Systems Maintenance Trainer. CNATTDET Eglin will eventually train more than 500 Navy and Marine Corps personnel annually on a variety of F-35 systems. Our instructors and staff are committed to providing exceptional training and preparing the future Fleet maintainers of the 5th generation Joint Strike Fighter.
