PURPOSE:
Advanced Avionics Integrated Weapons System Maintenance Course, Class C1 (AAIWSM(C1)) is designed to enhance technical capabilities of select military personnel through advanced study of state of the art avionics technologies. The course provides a cadre of integrated weapons system specialists able to interpret, analyze, and advise on effecting the repair of continually changing weapons systems and associated platforms.
SCOPE:
Math review, algebra fundamentals, trigonometry, direct current and alternating current theory, solid state electronics, synchro and servo mechanisms, analog and digital computer circuitry, computer theory and programming, microprocessor systems training and troubleshooting, computerized integrated weapons systems including communications, radar, antisubmarine warfare, avionics systems, navigation and automatic flight control systems.
PREREQUISITES:
OTHER=All students must be E-4 or above with four years active duty (elegibility only). Navy students must meet physical readiness standards of OPNAVINST 6110.1 series. All students should possess a strong math background comprising basic fundamentals of algebra. The following Navy training courses are required: Mathematics Volume I, NAVEDTRA 10069-D1; Mathematics Volume 2-A, NAVEDTRA 80062. In addition, the following Navy Training Courses are recommended: Aviation Electronics Technician 1 & C, NAVEDTRA 10318E; Aviation Electricians Mate 1 & C, NAVEDTRA 10366; NEETS volume 1, NAVEDTRA 173-01-00-88; NEETS volume 2, NAVEDTRA 172-02-00-91. and
