PURPOSE:
To provide selected enlisted Navy and Marine Corps personnel with basic knowledge and skills in aviation fundamentals and electricity/eletronics. Successful completion of this course does not provide the trainees with sufficient knowledge to be designated in any avionics rating, NEC, or MOS. This knowledge will enable them to assimilate further avionics maintenance fundamentals training.
SCOPE:
This course covers:
1. AVIATION FUNDAMENTALS: CPR, aviation fundamentals, NAMP, HAZMAT, and safety, aircraft battle damage repair, tool usage and control, corrosion control and mathematics.
2. BASIC ELECTRONIC/ELECTRICAL CONCEPTS and DC THEORY: atomic structure, principles of electrostatics and electricity, batteries, introduction to DC, series circuit analysis, parallel circuit analysis, series-parallel circuit analysis, voltage dividers, bridge circuits, and logical troubleshooting.
3. AC THEORY, WIRE and CONNECTOR REPAIR, INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL ELECTRONICS: AC, concepts, inductors, capasitors, PN junctions, power supplies, safety wiring and soldering, test equipment, number systems, digital components/computer systems.
