PURPOSE:
To provide military or civilian Electronic Technicians assigned to Navy and Marine Corps installations with the training to perform operational checks, alignments, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance of the AN/FSQ-204 Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS). Graduates of this course will perform at the required level with Air Traffic Control maintenance work centers under all operating conditions, with appropriate supervision.
SCOPE:
The STARS Maintenance course is designed to teach maintenance technicians the theory of operation, testing and servicing procedures for the AN/FSQ-204. The course consists of five primary sections: System Specialist; Maintenance and Control Workstation (MCW) Operator; Softward Maintenance/Automation Specialist Maintenance; Sony Digital Display Monitor Maintenance; AN/FYC-22 Visual Information Display System (VIDS).
