PURPOSE:
To provide Naval Aviators and Flight Officers in receipt of orders as a CV/CVN Air Operations or Assistant Air Operations Officer with a knowledge of Carrier Operations department administration, watch station functions, CV Natops procedures, and typical CATCC equipment. All students shall be required to demonstrate a knowledge of procedures, phraseology and equipment encountered in the typical CATCC environment.
SCOPE:
To provide officers with instruction in Carrier Air Operations to include the necessary knowledge to function as an Air Operations Officer and Assistant Air Operations Officer in a CATCC environment. Upon completion, the graduate will be able to function as a CATCC team member and supervise Carrier Air Traffic Control services in an operational shipboard environment.
