PURPOSE:
To provide selected officers with the knowledge to qualify as Aviation Fuels Officers for JP-5 and Automotive Gasoline Systems onboard CV's, CVN's, amphibious aviation and air capable ships.
SCOPE:
To provide instruction in the operation and maintenance of shipboard automotive gasoline and JP-5 fuel systems, quality control of aviation fuels, safety precautions pertinent to shipboard fuels handling, PQS and Aviation Fuels Operational Sequencing System (AFOSS) and Cargo Fuels Operational Sequencing System (CFOSS).
Due to the complexities and differences in ships systems and equipment, the course is designed to be taught in three different tracks; Aircraft Carrier, Amphibious Aviation, and Air Capable.
