Overview

The Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT) serves as a direct link between the Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) and the fleet. Each Unit (CNATTU) provides aviation weapon system training to air wing, squadron, ship and station personnel. The mission of each CNATTU is to provide specialized technical training for enlisted personnel in the maintenance and repair of aircraft and support equipment, as well as to conduct any other such training as the Chief of Naval Operations may direct.

CNATTU Whidbey Island strives to provide the best trained technicians to the Navy and Marine Corps team. Our Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles serve as a reminder of this goal to each member of the CNATTU team. To this end, CNATTU Whidbey Island's strategic goals are aligned each year to meet ensure the best possible training and support that we can offer.

Many members of the Navy and Marine Corps team will remember CNATTU as one of several different names that have graced our front door. Our history is long, dating back to 1944, and we are proud to carry on the tradition of excellence that was founded then.

CNATTU WHIDBEY ISLAND COMMAND PHILOSOPHY
Mission:
We are dedicated to “Training Today’s Aviation Professionals for Tomorrows Mission” in support of the Naval Aviation Enterprise, never wavering in our commitment to shipmates and families.

Vision:
To provide a pathway of learning for development of the finest aviation professionals capable of delivering an immediate and positive impact to the Fleet. We will be an organization that exemplifies the highest standards of service, conduct and performance, founded on a culture of professionalism, pride, respect and dignity.

Guiding Principles:

Professionalism - Know your job, do what is expected of you and continually strive to expand your knowledge and qualifications. Be competent in your position and let your performance do the talking.

Communication - Effective two-way communication is essential to our success. To consistently accomplish the mission our subordinates must know what is expected of them and they must feel empowered to provide feedback while accomplishing what we ask of them. Communication is the key to success!

Delegation and Accountability - Delegate authority to the appropriate level. Reward those who deserve credit for their actions and discipline by holding accountable those responsible for inappropriate actions. We are accountable for our own actions and those of the Sailors we supervise. If corrective actions are necessary, have the moral courage to take charge and fix what needs to be fixed.

Safety - Safety should always be on our minds. Do not compromise in this.

Dignity and Respect - Whatever your ancestry or lot in life, here we are equal. We will not tolerate disrespect or harassment! We are all on the same team. Negativity is NOT welcomed. Care for the safety and welfare of our Sailors!

Our Slogan:

Take care of your people, Continue to Excel in Executing our Mission, Open communication with all. Leave the command in BETTER condition than you found it!

WE ARE A TEAM- DISCIPLINED WHO ACHIEVE AND SUCCEED AT ANY TASK!
