US NAVY SEABEES BLASTING AND QUARRY TECHNICIAN SCHOOL

US Navy’s formal Blasting and quarry technician school is located in the Mojave desert region of California, instructs not just the Navy, we also teach Army and Air force. Army personnel who pass through our class get their C-3 identifier after passing the course.

We currently have scheduled four classes a year. Each class is six weeks, we have 3 weeks of classroom instruction ranging from geology, quarry selection and layout, priming and loading, shot design, safety, planning and estimating, transportation and many more subjects to help mold each student into a self reliant blaster. We then move to the field portion of the course. We operate in the field daily after classroom instruction is completed. There will be a total of three blasts through out the field portion of the class. Each student will be taught electric, non-electric, and cap and fuse methods of blasting. Our intention is for all personnel who pass through our doors and go back to there commands be competent and safe blasters, who will have the knowledge to train junior troops for explosive handling, and blasting techniques. We encourage all units to send there potential blasters through our course, even with prior blasting experience we are certain you will leave with even more knowledge then what you came with. IMPORTANT: Bring your medical records; our medical clinic cannot access electronic copies. You will also need to have a current Physical Health Assessment (PHA) done prior to coming..

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: YOU MUST BRING STEEL TOE BOOTS.

The US Navy's formal water well drilling school, located in the Mojave Desert region of California, trains Navy personnel as well as, Army and Air Force. Army personnel who graduate our course earn their C-3 identifier.

We currently have four classes a year. Each class is six weeks, with three weeks of classroom instruction ranging from geology, water exploration, well hydraulics, pumps, and ground water protection. We then move to the field portion of the course. We operate 24/7 and drill two, 600 foot wells. In the last week of the course we drill a third well with the Down Hole Drill (Down Hole Hammer). Our intention is for all personnel who pass through our doors and go back to their commands as competent well driller’s, needing only a crew at their side to complete the mission. We encourage all well drilling units to send their drillers through our course. Even with prior drilling experience, we are certain you will leave with greater knowledge and expertise.
