Senior Chief Construction Mechanic Christian A. Beltramo enlisted in the Navy in March 1997. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he graduated as honor graduate from Construction Mechanic (CM) “A” School, Port Hueneme, California.

His operational assignments include Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, Port Hueneme, deploying to Roosevelt Roads Naval Station, Puerto Rico and Sasebo, Japan, as well as graduating as honor graduate from CM “C” School; and Explosive Ordinance Disposal Mobile Unit 11, Oak Harbor, Washington, working as the shop supervisor and deploying with Command Element to Kandahar, Afghanistan. He was assigned again to NMCB 5 as water well officer in charge, deploying to Dire Dawa, Ethiopia completing a seven well project supplying water for local villages; as the Air Det. 4, deploying during home port in support of Super Storm Sandy relief efforts in New Jersey and New York, removing debris from roadways allowing emergency crews and services access for cleanup; and then deploying as the A4. He also served with Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit 303 as the Alfa Company commander, showcasing key Naval Construction Force capabilities providing Civil Engineer Support Equipment (CESE) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) logistical operations support for Naval Base San Diego, 3rd Fleet, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command Pacific, and I Marine Expeditionary Force.

Other assignments include Naval Support Activity La Maddalena, Sardinia, Italy, for a public works tour; Naval Construction Training Center, Port Hueneme, where he instructed both CM “A” and “C” Schools and ultimately shifted to the Naval Military Trainer his last year; and Naval Construction Training Center, Port Hueneme, Det China Lake as the Water Well, Blasting and Quarry officer in charge.
