Dear Student:

Welcome to Training Support Center, San Diego (TSC). I am confident your assignment here will be professionally rewarding and personally enjoyable. The knowledge you will gain here will be of great value and help prepare you for your assignment to your ultimate command.

Training Support Center, San Diego has the responsibility to provide you with administrative and appropriate logistical support during your stay in San Diego. If you require assistance of any nature, the entire staff is standing by to assist in your needs. It is both our mission and desire to assist you in every way possible.

Many base facilities are available for your use. Included are the exchange, commissary, theater, craft shops, sporting facilities, churches, and medical/dental clinic. We have also included a phone listing for the most frequently used facilities at the Naval Base San Diego, Point Loma, and Coronado, along with hours of operation.

This handout provides pertinent information concerning your stay here and should answer your questions about San Diego bases and the surrounding community. Please read and become familiar with the policies and procedures outlined in this handout as they will aid you immensely during your assignment at Training Support Center, San Diego.

Student Check-in Procedures

Upon arrival, report to Naval Base San Diego (dry side) and proceed to Training Support Center, San Diego (TSC SD), 3975 Norman Scott Road. If you have any questions regarding where to report, please call the TSC SD Quarterdeck/OOD, (619) 556-556-8372, or TSC SD Student Support Office, (619) 556-5287.

After normal business hours or on weekends and holidays: Report to TSCSD quarterdeck, Bldg. 3290, to check-in. TSCSD duty personnel will assist with billeting and provide further reporting instructions.

During normal business hours: If you are reporting for a class that begins on Monday or the first work day after a Monday holiday, report to Training Support Center San Diego Auditorium, Bldg. 3291, for check-in registration. Check-in registration begins at 6:30 am. Remember most classes require students to be seated by 7: 30 am, so allow plenty of time to complete the registration process. After completion of registration, you will be directed to your school. If you are reporting for a class that begins Tuesday-Friday, report to TSC SD, Student Support Office, located in Bldg. 3280, A-120.

Parking for students is located on Norman Scott Road directly across from the bowling alley or in the parking garage across from the fire department. Unauthorized vehicles parked in the Staff lot will be ticketed.

During your first day of class, TSCSD Command PASS Coordinator (CPC) will conduct a student brief to discuss procedures for conducting student administrative and personnel related matters.

NOTE 1. For students who are attending GCCS-M; END-TO- END TT; ISNS; ADNS AND CENTRIXS-MME-AEC see UIC 30586 below for reporting instructions.

NOTE 2. For TAD students attending AN/SSX-1 FLEET OPS; CUB OPS; DRT and HITS OPERATOR report directly to Naval Base San Diego (wet side), BLDG 3141 by 7:00 am on the day of convening.

NOTE 3. Students attending Galley Watch Captain (GWC) see UIC 30586 below for reporting instructions.

NOTE 4. For SRF B CIN: A-830-0018 CDP: 991Y report NLT 6:30 am to weapons BLDG 3281, classroom 2W12. Any unused seats will be given to a stand-by NLT 7:00 am. Bus departs at 7:30 am.

NOTE 5. STUDENTS WHOSE ORDERS READ: STU CSCS DET SD CA UIC: 48078 (with the exception of the CEC and TACOPS-WBI courses). On the day your class convenes, report at 7:00 am to the Quarterdeck of CSCS Detachment San Diego, Bldg. 3281 located on the “dry” side of Naval Base San Diego. Staff members will direct you to your classroom after completion of registration. If you have any questions regarding where to report please call CSCS Detachment San Diego Quarterdeck (619) 556-1786 for directions.

Parking for students is located on Norman Scott Road directly across from the bowling alley or in the parking garage across from the fire department. Unauthorized vehicles parked in the Staff lot will be ticketed.

NOTE 6. STUDENTS WHOSE ORDERS READ: STU CSCS DET SD CA UIC: 48078 (Attending the CEC and TACOPS-WBI courses) On the day your class convenes, report at 7:00 am to FLEASWTRACEN, Course Manager, located in Bldg. 52 across from the softball field. FLEASWTRACEN is located on Harbor Drive across from Liberty Station (approximately 2 miles North of the San Diego International Airport).

After normal business hours or on weekends and holidays, report to FLEASWTRACEN quarterdeck, Bldg. 11, located on Echo Lane. For more information call FLEASW TRACEN Quarterdeck, (619) 524-1689.

Parking is limited on FLEASWTRACEN facility. Students are encouraged to park in overflow parking across from Bldg.11 on North side of Harbor Drive. Students are advised to utilize the overpass vice crossing at the street level.

NOTE 7. STUDENTS WHOSE ORDERS READ: STU NASC SWIM SITE SAN DIEGO UIC: 39373

On the day your class convenes, report directly to the pool, Bldg. 153, located on the “wet” side of Naval Base San Diego (NBSD) NLT 7:00 am. Bring all required check-in documents and PT/swim gear required for the Physical readiness Examination Screening (in test).

Parking is extremely limited on “wet” side of NBSD. Students are encouraged to park in lot adjacent to the base chapel, Bldg. 277, or The Brew Houser-Enlisted Club, Bldg. 45. For further information call 619-556-0617.

NOTE 8. STUDENTS WHOSE ORDERS READ: STU NAMTD/CNATTU NORTH ISLAND CA, UIC 39476
STU CNATT/MIRAMAR, UIC 43870 **All courses under UIC 43870 are taught at MCAS Miramar, building 8671, COMM: 858-577-6015 or DSN: 267-6015.

Monday through Friday up to 4:00 pm: Report to Training Support Center, Naval Base Coronado, Student Support Office in Building 698 Room 31 located on Stockdale Blvd onboard NAS North Island. Contact numbers: COMM: (619) 545-5137, 767-1436 or DSN: 735-5137.

Monday through Friday after 4:00 pm or during weekends and holidays: Contact TSC, Naval Base Coronado Quarterdeck Building 678, COMM: (619)545-8123. Students checking in after normal business hours will need to report to the TSC Naval Base Coronado Student Support Office the following work day (M-F) at 7:00 am for course registration/check–in and follow on instructions.

Parking is available in designated student spaces surrounding Building 698 or in the dirt lot facing Building 599.

Students authorized per diem attending the above courses shall call the MCAS Miramar Consolidated Bachelor Quarters at COMM: (858) 577-4235 or DSN 267-4235, Mon-Fri, 6:30 am - 2:30 pm PST for reservations during this intermediate activity. All other Students attending the above courses will be assigned rooms at MCAS Miramar after check in.

NOTE 9. STUDENTS WHOSE ORDERS READ: STU SWOS ELS CORONADO CA, UIC 43929

Monday through Friday (6:30 am – 3:30 pm): Report to the SWOS Engineering Learning Site (SWOS ELS Coronado) located onboard Naval Amphibious Base Coronado (NAB), Tarawa Road, building 207. Billeting and course registration will be provided onsite. Contact number during working hours: COMM (619) 437-3681.

Weekends/holidays and after normal hours: Report to NAB Billeting (BEQ), Tulagi Road, building 302, for barracks assignment. Students checking in after normal business hours will need to report to the SWOS ELS Coronado the following work day (M-F) at 6:30 am for course registration/check–in and follow on instructions.

Parking is available in undesignated spaces surrounding Bldg. 207.

Report upon arrival to Naval Base Point Loma, Fleet Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Center (approximately 2 miles North of the San Diego International Airport on Harbor Drive). Proceed to Training Support Center, Naval Base Point Loma (TSC NBPL) Building 11, 33150 Destroyer Lane, for student check-in and indoctrination. You may contact TSC NBPL student admin at (619) 524-1804 or FASW quarterdeck at (619) 524-1689, if additional information is needed.

After normal business hours or on weekends and holidays, report to FASW quarterdeck, Building 11, to check-in. FASW duty personnel will assist with temporary lodging and provide further instructions. Student(s) will report, the next business day, NLT 7:30 am, to TSC NBPL, Building 11, adjacent to FASW quarterdeck to complete the check-in process.

Parking is available for students in an overflow parking area on the North side of Harbor Drive. Students are advised to utilize the overpass vice crossing at the street level.

STUDENTS WHOSE ORDERS READ: STU FITC SAN DIEGO CA, UIC 43662

Report upon arrival to FITC Quarterdeck located on Harbor Drive (next to Terminal 2 of San Diego International Airport) for check-in and further instructions. You may contact TSC NBPL representative, (619) 524-1804 or FITC Quarterdeck at (619) 524-5814, if additional information is needed.

Student Information

GENERAL INFORMATION

Contact the appropriate training site for school hours. If you are not sure which site to contact, call the Training Support Center Quarterdeck/OOD (619) 556-8372 for directions.

FOR MILITARY PERSONNEL

1. Alcohol consumption is prohibited for all military personnel under 21 years of age.

2. The per-diem NGIS room charges are $55.00 per day for E-7 and above for a private room and bath; $42.00 per day for a private room/shared bath; Initial Entry Training (IET) Students will be assigned to the non per-diem rooms.

3. If you do not have a meal pass, E-4 and below Breakfast is $2.60, Lunch is 4.20 and Dinner is $3.65 each. E5 and above Breakfast is $3.45, Lunch is 5.55 and Dinner is $4.85 each.

4. Foreign Travel Requirements. Foreign travel is defined as travel to any location outside the fifty United States; this includes travel to Mexico and Canada. Due to frequent updates to personnel foreign travel requirements, individuals contemplating official or unofficial (leave or liberty) foreign travel shall contact the Training Support Center San Diego Foreign Travel Coordinator no less than 30 days prior to travel commencement to review travel requirements and, if required, initiate appropriate clearance requests. Once requirements are complete, the Foreign Travel Coordinator will sign off on the individual's leave or special request chit acknowledging completion prior to routing up the chain of command for approval. This policy applies to all Training Support Center San Diego staff and students, including International Military Students. No TSC staff member or student shall commence travel to a foreign country without contacting the Foreign Travel Coordinator and confirming that all foreign travel requirements have been satisfied.

Motorcycles

If driving a motorcycle on base, you will need to complete the Navy Motorcycle Safety Course. To schedule the course visit website NavyMotorcycleRider.com. You also need to ensure that you wear all appropriate protective equipment: helmet, shatter resistant eye protection, gloves, long-sleeve shirt, pants, hard sole shoes and a retro-reflective vest. The motorcycle safety course and all protective equipment are mandatory to operate a motorcycle, both on base and off base!
