Operationally, he served as Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 126 (VAW-126) aviation intelligence officer embarked with USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) in support of operations Enduring Freedom and New Dawn. While deployed, Bachman also was Regional Command-South’s air analyst at Kandahar Intelligence Fusion Center. Following initial assignments, he served as Naval Special Warfare Unit 10’s Intelligence Department head and managed a deployed enterprise of information warfare personnel and activities across the U.S. Africa Command area of responsibility. His milestone assignments include multiple Indo-Pacific deployments while serving as staff intelligence, plans and exercises officer for Battle Force 7th Fleet embarked aboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76); and assistant chief of staff for intelligence and deputy information warfare commander with Carrier Strike Group 1 embarked aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70).
Ashore, Bachman served as USAFRICOM’s intelligence watch officer throughout U.S. and NATO combat operations Odyssey Dawn and Unified Protector; Joint Reconnaissance Center intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance planner during numerous named crisis and contingency operations; and executive assistant to the Intelligence Directorate’s deputy director. In addition, he was strategic planner at the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information Warfare, International Programs and Engagement and executive assistant to the Office of Naval Intelligence commander and National Maritime Intelligence-Integration Office director.
Bachman reported to Center for Information Warfare Training at Naval Air Station Pensacola’s Corry Station, Florida, as executive officer in June 2025.
His military decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation and Achievement Medals (two awards each), and various unit and service awards.
