Captain Bryant Hepstall

A native of Thomasville, Alabama, Capt. Hepstall enlisted in the Navy in 1981 and advanced through the enlisted ranks to chief petty officer. Commissioned via the Limited Duty Officer program in 1993, he was designated an aerospace maintenance duty officer in 2001.
 
Graduating with honors from Southern Illinois University, Hepstall earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education (Management) in 2000. He received his Master of Science in Business Administration from Troy State University in 2001. Designated an Acquisition Corps member in 2002, he is Certified Level III in Program Management, Production Quality, and Manufacturing and Acquisition Life Cycle Logistics.
 
Hepstall’s fleet operational assignments include tours as detachment maintenance officer for Helicopter Combat Support Squadron (HC) 8 aboard USS Kearsarge (LHD 3), USS Wasp (LHD 1), and USS Nassau (LHA 4); officer in charge, Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD) Expeditionary Logistics Unit; maintenance material control officer and assistant maintenance officer aboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76); and AIMD officer aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). During these tours, he participated in multiple campaigns, including Operations Desert Shield/Storm, Enduring Freedom, Provide Comfort and Iraqi Freedom.
 
Ashore, Hepstall served as the assistant maintenance officer and maintenance material control officer at Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light (HSL) 40; assistant maintenance officer at Commander Helicopter Tactical Wing U.S. Atlantic Fleet; aerospace maintenance duty officer community manager at Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland; and most recently as executive officer for the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT).
 
His program office tours include assistant program manager for logistics for the Hornet, Super Hornet and Growler program (PMA-265); director for weapons systems logistics at the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office (PMA-235); and the military director for NAVAIR’s industrial and logistics maintenance planning and sustainment department.
 
Hepstall became commanding officer of CNATT in April 2020.
 
During his distinguished naval career, he earned his enlisted aviation warfare, surface warfare and master training specialist designations as well as his professional aviation maintenance officer warfare insignia. His personal awards include the Legion of Merit (two awards), Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), Good Conduct Medal (three awards), Combat Action ribbon and various unit, campaign, and service awards.
