Command Master Chief Michael D. Marler

Command Master Chief Michael D. Marler, a native of Houston, Texas, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1999.  After completion of recruit training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois, he proceeded to Naval Air Technical Training Center Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, Florida, where he graduated from Aviation Ordnanceman “A” school.  He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 208/Red) and the Command Master Chief Course (Class 178).  He graduated with honors from Columbia College of Missouri, earning his Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2019.
 
After a tour of duty at the NAS Lemoore weapons department, he was selected for the P-3 flight engineer program in 2002.  In 2003, he reported to Naval Air Crew Candidate School (NACCS) for naval aircrewman training.  Following NACCS, he attended flight engineer school at Patrol Squadron (VP) 30 aboard NAS Jacksonville, Florida.
 
His tours include VP-9 in Hawaii; VP-30 instructor duty in Jacksonville, Florida; VP-46 in Washington; Scientific Development Squadron (VXS) 1 in Patuxent River, Maryland; Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (HX) 21 in Patuxent River, Maryland; and Maritime Expeditionary Security Group (MESG) 1 Detachment Guam.
 
Marler currently serves as the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training command master chief in Pensacola, Florida.
 
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Air Medal (strike/flight), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and various unit, campaign, and service awards.
