Major Daniel Emunson enlisted in the Marine Corps in December 1994. After graduating from recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, SC, in March 1995, he attended Marine Combat Training on Camp Lejeune, NC. He graduated in July 1995 and reported to AV-8B Environmental/Escape System Organizational Maintenance Course in Cherry Point, NC. He graduated with a Military Occupational Specialty of 6085 (AV-8B Aviation Life Support Systems Mechanic) and reported to Marine Attack Squadron 211, where he continue to serve as a Collateral Duty Inspector and Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Respresentative for his work center.
 
Staff Sergeant Emunson received a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Park University in June 2005. He was selected for the Enlisted Commissioning Program and reported to Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA, in October 2005 and attended Marine Corps Officer Candidate School. He graduated and received his commission to the rank of Second Lieutenant in December 2005 and report to The Basic School (TBS), Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA. After completing TBS, he was assigned his current MOS of 6602 (Aviation Supply Officer), attended and graduated the Navy Supply Corps School Marine Basic Qualification Course held in Athens, GA from August 2006 to December 2006.
 
Second Lieutenant Emunson reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadraon 14 (MALS-14) assuming the duties of the Supply Response Division Officer in Charge (OIC) in December 2006. In September 2007. he was assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom based at Kandahar International Airport, Afghanistan from March 2008 to November 2008. Upon his return from deployment in November 2008, he assumed the duties of Assistant Operations and Training Officer for MALS-14 and was later assigned as the Continuous Process Improvement OIC from August 2009 to April 2010.
 
In April 2010, Captain Emunson was transferred to the 33rd Maintenance Group and assumed the duties as the Operations Squadron / Aviation Supply Officer, supporting the Joint Strike Fighter fleet integration and sustainment for the 33rd Fighter Wind, Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 501 and Strike Fighter Squadron 101 aboard Eglin Air Force Base, FL.
 
Captain Emunson was assigned to Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, VA in August 2013 and graduated in May 2014. He received orders to MALS-26 in New River, NC and assumed the fole of Repairable Management Division OIC until January 2015. In February of 2015, he was selected to the billet of 2d Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) Staff Secretary.
 
Major Emunson was transferred to MALS-26 in February 2016 and served as the Aviation Supply Department OIC overseeing the issuing and procurement of material in support of Marine Aircraft Group 26 composed of seven MV-22 Osprey squardons, one of which is the Fleet Replacement Squadron, an aviation logistics squadron and a wing support squadron aboard New River, NC. In May 2018, Major Emunsn assumed the role of the Military Deputy Group Head, 6.0 Logistics & Industrial Ops within Fleet Readiness Center East Cherry Point, NC.
