REPORTING INFORMATION
Whether you are inbound or contemplating a transfer here, you will discover that Information Warfare Training Site (IWTS) Fort Eisenhower is a challenging and rewarding duty station.
Fort E
isenhower
is located in north central Georgia and is within easy driving distance of Charleston, Myrtle Beach, and other cities along the east coast. Augusta is the second largest city in Georgia with a population of nearly half a million, but still manages to display the feel of a small town. It is also home to the Masters Golf tournament. Friendly people, an overabundance of first-class amenities, fine dining, and a growing arts community are all factors that contribute to a superb quality of life and underscore why so many people choose to serve and retire here. Housing choices range from affordable, quality houses and apartments, to modest homes on acreage, to luxurious residences in gated country clubs. Temporary quarters, family housing, and barracks are also available on base.
Activities and programs abound for youth, teens, and adults.
Fort Eisenhower’s Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) website
offers a variety of programs and services for single or unaccompanied Sailors and their families, including computers, games, trips, a golf course, bowling, child care, camping, fishing, riding stables, and much more! You can shop at a modern, well-stocked commissary and the Post Exchange.
Finally, remember to regularly inform your sponsor and command about your travel plans, especially if you encounter emergencies along the way or cannot arrive safely or as scheduled.
We look forward to your safe arrival and to welcoming you to IWTS Fort Eisenhower. You will enjoy living here, being part of our family, and working with a winning team of professionals.
UNIFORMS
Fort Eisenhower is located in Navy Region Southeast. The winter uniform shift occurs in November and the summer uniform period typically begins in March in accordance with guidance from the regional commander. The Uniform Shop on base does not adequately stock Navy uniforms, so please ensure you have the proper uniform items. You can order online at the
Navy Exchange Uniform Support Center
or call 1-800-368-4088.
STUDENTS
Reporting Procedures
Temporary Additional Duty (TEMADD), Permanent Change of Station (PCS), Active Duty for Training (ACDUTRA) orders, or Catalog of Navy Training Courses (CANTRAC) reservations are required for all courses. The orders must identify course number and title, student's name, rate/rank and social security number.
Students must report to classes no later than 8:00 a.m. on class convening date. Students on PCS orders or from out-of-area and arriving earlier than class convening date must have orders stamped at IWTS Fort Eisenhower in building 25706.
Students who arrive on class convening day, report directly to building 25706 for further information, muster and class-up instructions.
Students who arrive for schools must meet course prerequisites or may be returned to their parent command. You must ensure that your prospective student meets all prerequisites or that the training course manager approved your waiver request. Students must also meet obligated service requirements per the MILPERSMAN and/or the Enlisted Transfer Manual.
Command Obligations
In order to improve performance and minimize interference with school-related requirements, it is recommended that students attending formal courses become exempt from regular duty requirements.
Uniforms
Working uniforms are required on the first day of class (E-6 and below: Navy Working Uniform; E-7 and above: Khakis). Students must comply with Navy standards of dress and grooming.
Class Attendance
Students attending courses of instruction without TEMADD orders remain under the administrative control of the parent command. The parent command shall ensure that the student reports to class on time each day as assigned.
Discipline
A breach of discipline on liberty or duty will result in immediate disciplinary action, which may include disenrollment and return to parent command.
Leave
Leave, except for emergency leave, will not be granted to students. Modification to orders authorizing leave will not be honored unless received in writing prior to a student's scheduled departure date.
Messing
Fort Eisenhower has three Army dining facilities, as well as other fast-food restaurants and a Post Exchange food court.
Transportation
Classroom locations are within walking distance of barracks. Out-of-area students arriving at Augusta Regional Airport should contact the IWTS Fort Eisenhower CDO at (706) 421-4726 to inquire on the availability of military transportation to building 25706. Otherwise, a commercial taxi may be taken.
STAFF
Congratulations on your orders to IWTS Fort Eisenhower. We extend a warm “welcome aboard" from the staff. We hope that your tour with us will be a memorable experience. Instructors here have the opportunity to facilitate courses on the latest technology and support the training requirements of the fleet. We are committed to our Sailors, their families, and our mission on and off duty. Command and community activities are abundant. We encourage you to take advantage of all this area has to offer during your tour.
Prior to Your Arrival
1. Read your orders. If required, get all polygraphs, overseas screenings, physical exams, and special screenings completed prior to arrival. Also, please be aware that IWTS Fort Eisenhower does not have a local personnel support detachment (PSD). We are supported by PSD Charleston, South Carolina, which is approximately 2.5 hours from Fort Eisenhower. To ease your transition to IWTS Fort Eisenhower, we recommend that you complete as much business as you can at your present command prior to transfer.
2. Make contact with your sponsor as soon as possible. If you do not have a sponsor assigned you can contact us at (706) 791-7027 or DSN 780-7027 during normal working hours or (706) 421-4726 after normal working hours.
Please don't hesitate to call for any additional information or assistance.
