Commander Patrick A. Batiste

Cmdr. Patrick A. Batiste, a native of Cottonport, Louisiana, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1988. After boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Aviation Boatswain’s Mate “A” school at Naval Air Technical Training Center Lakehurst, New Jersey.  He is a graduate from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics and was commissioned as a limited duty officer in March 2003. 
 
His enlisted tours included USS Forrestal (CV 59) based at Naval Air Station Mayport, Florida, deploying twice to the Mediterranean Sea and Indian Ocean; Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida field support division for Sherman Field; and Pre-Commissioning Unit John C. Stennis (CVN 74), based at Newport News, Virginia, where he made the maiden deployment to the Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Southern Watch and the homeport change to San Diego, California. As an instructor at Naval Air Technical Training Center, Pensacola, Florida, he earned his Master Training Specialist qualification and was selected as the 2000 Military Standards Department Instructor of the Year. 
 
As an officer, his operational assignments include serving as aircraft launch and recovery maintenance officer aboard USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67), based at Naval Station Mayport, Florida; V-3 division officer and air department refuel complex overhaul coordinator aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), based at Newport News, Virginia;  flight deck officer aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), based at Everett, Washington, making the maiden deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and homeport change to Norfolk, Virginia; and aircraft handling officer aboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), based at Norfolk, Virginia. 
 
His ashore assignments include duty at Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland as the Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) program office model manager and at Commander, Naval Air Force Atlantic, Norfolk, Virginia, as the N73 force handler/officer in charge.
 
Batiste previously served as executive officer, Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit (CNATTU) Oceana, Virginia, from December 2020 to June 2022.

Batiste currently serves as commanding officer, CNATTU Oceana.
 
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), Good Conduct Medal (four awards), and numerous letters of commendation, service ribbons, and medals.
