Senior Chief Aviation Electronics Technician Jorge Herrero, a native of Mexico City, Mexico, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2002, and after boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Aviation Electronics Technician “A” School. He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 235/Red).

His assignments include Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 147, where he deployed aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) and USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74); Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Detachment Atsugi; VFA-192, where he deployed twice aboard USS John C. Stennis; Navy Recruiting District Miami; and VFA-41, where he deployed aboard the John C. Stennis.

Herrero currently serves as senior enlisted leader, Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit Lemoore Detachment Point Mugu, California.

His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards) and various unit awards.
