Senior Chief Aviation Electronics Technician Porfirio Ayon

Senior Chief Aviation Electronics Technician Porfirio Ayon, a San Gabriel, California, native, enlisted in August 2004. In November 2005, he was assigned to Strike Fighter Wing Pacific, Detachment Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD) in Lemoore, California, where he began his service as an aviation electronics technician.

His operational experience includes multiple deployments to the 7th and 5th Fleet areas of responsibility aboard several aircraft carriers, namely the USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74); USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76); USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70); and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71).

His shore assignments have included Fleet Readiness Center Southwest in Point Mugu, California; Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS) 24 in Kaneohe, Hawaii; and an overseas tour with Commander, Fleet Air Forward AIMD in Atsugi, Japan.

As he advanced through the ranks, he assumed significant leadership roles including: production control supervisor, administration leading petty officer (LPO), quality assurance LPO, department leading chief petty officer, and production control chief.

In September 2025, he transitioned to his new role as the senior enlisted leader at CNATTU Lemoore Detachment Point Mugu, California.

His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and the Good Conduct Medal (five awards).
