Senior Chief Equipment Operator Arturo Cruz Jr.

Senior Chief Equipment Operator Arturo Cruz, Jr., a native of Magnolia, Texas, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2004, and after graduating boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Equipment Operator "A" School.  

His assignments include Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 74, deploying to Peru, Guam and Kuwait; Naval Facilities Engineering Command Europe, Africa and Southwest Asia, managing Base Support Vehicles and Equipment department and base Weight Handling Equipment managers; NMCB 133, deploying to Afghanistan and Micronesia; Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering, serving as equipment specialist with Naval Facilities Engineering Command Training Support Agency; and NMCB 1, deploying to Rota, Spain.
 
He reported to Naval Construction Training Center Port Hueneme Learning Site China Lake as the officer in charge in February 2021.
 
Cruz is designated a Seabee warfare specialist. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards) and various other unit and personal awards.
