Commander Eric R. Truemper

Commander Eric Truemper is a native of St. Louis, Missouri.  He enlisted in the Navy as a Construction Electrician in 1994 and was Commissioned through the Limited Duty Officer Program in 2007.  He is a 2004 graduate of the University of Maryland University College with a Bachelor of Science in Management.  He earned a Master’s of Science in Project Management from the University of Maryland University College in 2013.

CDR Truemper’s operational tours include Camp Maintenance Electrician, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion ONE (NMCB ONE); Engineering LPO, Joint Communications Support Element (Airborne), Tampa, Florida; Company Chief and Detail Operations Chief supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom, NMCB FORTY; Training Officer/ Officer-in-Charge of Details supporting Operation Enduring Freedom, NMCB FOUR; Training Officer, NMCB FIFTEEN; Naval Construction Force Operations Officer, Commander, Task Force 68 (CTF 68), Rota Spain; Operations Officer NMCB FOUR; and Fleet Engineer to Commander, U.S. SEVENTH Fleet embarked on the USS Blue Ridge homeported in Yokosuka, Japan, and Chief Staff Officer for Naval Expeditionary Combat Forces Central (NECFC), Commander, Task Force 56 (CTF 56) in Manama, Bahrain.

His shore assignments include Electrical Shop Supervisor at Naval Air Facility, Adak, Alaska; Self-Help Electrician, Commander, Naval Forces Marianas, Guam; Electrical Shop Leading Chief Petty Officer, Naval Air Station Keflavik, Iceland; Exercise Officer and Equipment Officer, Naval Construction Group 1 (NCG 1), and Executive Officer for Naval Construction Training Center (NCTC), Port Hueneme, California.

CDR Truemper assumed duties as the Commanding Officer of Naval Construction Training Center, Port Hueneme on June 18, 2025.

CDR Truemper is a qualified Seabee Combat Warfare Officer and is qualified to wear the Naval Parachutist insignia. His military education includes Joint Professional Military Education Phase 1 from the Naval War College, and he is a member of the Defense Acquisition Professional Community. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6 awards), Army Commendation Medal (2 awards), Joint Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
