Lt. j.g. Gafayat Moradeyo, a native of Ogun State, Nigeria, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2008, and after boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, she attended Builders Utilitiesman "A" School. She earned her commission through the Limited Duty Officer/Chief Warrant Officer Program in 2022. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a master's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management from Trident International University and completed the Joint Fundamentals Course at the Joint Special Operations University.

Her assignments include Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4, where she deployed to Afghanistan and Kuwait; Naval Construction Group 1 as mobile training team coordinator, course database manager, and individual medical readiness manager; NMCB 3 as project supervisor, detail leading petty officer, detail safety supervisor, platoon chief, officer in charge, and exercise planner (Planning Phase) and operations chief (Execution Phase) for the 2019 Balikatan Indo-Pacific Command Exercise; Naval Support Unit Arlington as battalion assistant safety officer and training program manager; and NMCB 5 as assistant training officer. 

She reported to Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering Detachment Sheppard Air Force Base as officer in charge in June 2024.
 
Moradeyo is designated a Seabee combat specialist, expeditionary warfare specialist, master training specialist and Seabee technical security specialist. Her awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (4 awards), Army Achievement Medal, and other medals and unit citations.
