Introduction to Maritime Logistics Planning (LogPlans) (formerly Introduction to Expeditionary Logistics [IEL]) Introduction to Maritime Logistics Planning provides students with the knowledge and tools to apply the Navy Planning Process from the perspective of a logistician operating at the Operational Level of War. The course emphasizes how to determine requirements, assess capabilities, and allocate resources to deploy, sustain, and logistically support maritime forces across the range of military operations. Joint Operational Planning
Principles of Logistics

This course is taught as a seminar with guest speakers as subject matter experts and includes individual and group exercises, practical applications, and student presentations. It is intended for all Officers and Senior Enlisted from the active component, reserve component, other services, and foreign militaries. LogPlans is a two-week resident course in Newport, RI, in which students engage in seminar-based learning and culminate their experience with the development and presentation of a Concept of Logistics Support (COLS)—a decisional, operations- and intelligence-informed logistics product demonstrating a working knowledge of the planning process. This course is UNCLASSIFIED.
