Commander Andrew Wiese

Cmdr. Andrew Wiese enlisted in the Navy in 1991 as a Hospital Corpsman, earning the rank of second class petty officer. He was accepted to the Enlisted Commissioning Program and graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science and received his commissioning at Florida A&M University ROTC in 2001. He attended naval flight training at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida and Randolph AFB, San Antonio Texas, earning his Wings of Gold as a Naval Flight Officer in 2003. He is a 2016 graduate of the Naval War College, earning a Master of Arts in Defense and Strategic Studies.

His operational assignments include Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron (VQ-1) "World Watchers"; USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), catapult and arresting gear officer “Shooter”; Special Projects Patrol Squadron (VPU-2) "Wizards", V-1 Division Officer Air Department, Department Head, Assistant NATOP’s, Administrative, and Maintenance Officer; forward deployed Naval Forces USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), Combat Directions Center Officer. 

His shore assignments include Commander Task Force 67, staff officer, assistant operation officer; United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM), J39 Liaison Officer (SOFL); Headquarters United States European Command (USEUCOM), Combined Education and Training Branch Chief, ECJ5 Security Cooperation and Partnering Division, Plans, Policy Strategy and Capabilities Directorate.

He reported to Naval Aviation Schools Command as Executive Officer in March 2025.

Cmdr. Wiese has flown over 2000 hours in the EP-3/P-3. His decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Air Medal (S/F) (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy Achievement Medal (three awards), Joint Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign decorations.
