Commander Jeremy M. Hansler

Cmdr. Jeremy Hansler graduated from Troy University with a bachelor’s degree in Social Science in 2000 and a master’s in Education in 2002. He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Officer Candidate School, earning his commission in December 2002. Hansler completed flight training at Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola in Florida and was winged as a Naval Flight Officer in March of 2004.
 
Hansler’s operational assignments include service with the “Rangers” of Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron 2 (VQ-2) at Rota, Spain and Whidbey Island, Washington; fleet readiness officer (C7F) on the 7th Fleet staff aboard USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19); force security manager for U.S. 5th Fleet, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command in Manama, Bahrain; and plans officer in the Combined Joint Fires Element (CJFE) office, United States Forces Korea (USFK), located in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
 
His shore assignments include serving as a project manager at Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Center Pacific located in San Diego, California;  operations officer on the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) watchfloor in the National Military Command Center in Washington, D.C; department head for “Warbucks” of Training Squadron 4 (VT-4); on the Naval Service Training Command (NSTC) staff; and as operations officer for Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT) at NAS Pensacola.
 
Hansler's awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal (five awards), and the Navy Achievement Medal and various personal, unit and campaign decorations.

Lapse in Appropriations: The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sept. 30, 2025.
Military personnel will continue in normal duty status, without pay, until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
