Captain Steven W. Antcliff
Commanding Officer, Naval Submarine School
Capt. Steven Antcliff enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear machinist’s mate in 1990 and earned his commission through the Enlisted Commissioning Program in 1996 after graduating from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He earned his Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College in 2012.
Lieutenant Commander Karl J. Hassenfratz
Executive Officer, Naval Submarine School
Lt. Cmdr. Karl Hassenfratz, a native of Orchard Park, New York, received his commission after completing a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2005. He earned his Master of Science in Systems Engineering Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
Command Master Chief Aaron Lee
Command Master Chief, Naval Submarine School
Master Chief Lee, a native of Long Beach, California, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in December 1997, and after boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended basic enlisted submarine school and machinist mate “A” and “C” school at Naval Submarine School, Groton, Connecticut. He is a graduate of the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy and completed the command master chief/chief of the boat course in 2019.

Reporting for Training
DURING NORMAL WORKING HOURS (MON-FRI 0700-1600)

Check in at the Training Support Center, located in Center for Naval Aviation Tactical Training Unit, Building 698, Stockdale Blvd., Room 31, telephone (619) 545-8292.
Bring the original copy of your orders, Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) Jacket (if applicable), Medical Records, and your completed SERE Medical Screening form signed by a physician.
AFTER NORMAL WORKING HOURS, HOLIDAYS, AND WEEKENDS
:
To get your orders stamped, go to the NBC North Island (NASNI) Quarterdeck located in Building 678.
Note
: On the following working day report to TSD Building 698, room 31.
If you are a pipeline student, meaning you have not checked in to a permanent command, report to Finn Hall, Building 762, Rogers Road, for a barracks room. Students sent by their ultimate command on temporary addition duty should go to the Navy Gateway Inn and Suites (NGIS), North Island, Bldg. 1500, Rogers Road, for berthing; Your command should have already made a reservation for a room.
Pipeline Sailors and Marines coming from Pensacola or SOI at Camp Pendleton, report to Finn Hall, Building 762, Rogers Road, for a barracks room. All others report to the Navy Gateway Inn and Suites (NGIS), North Island, Bldg. 1500, Rogers Road, for berthing; Your command should have already made a reservation for a room.
ON YOUR CLASS CONVENE DATE:
Check in will commence at 0630 in the back of the schoolhouse, Building 618, in the Motor Pool. Classes do convene on federal holidays so execute your orders at stated. Bring your Military ID, original stamped copy of your orders, NATOPS Jacket (if applicable), Medical Record, and completed SERE Medical Screening Form signed by a physician.

* (2) Short Sleeve Cotton T-Shirts (Green, Brown, Blue, or Black)
* (1) Watch (Inexpensive, non-global positioning capable)
* (1) Flashlight or Head Lamp (red and white light capable, fresh batteries Inside)
* (1) Pencil (non-mechanical) wooden with eraser
* (1) 3x5 Note Card
* (1) Camouflage Paint Kit
RECOMMENDED ITEMS:

* (1) Gloves (Leather, Cold Weather - Think Tactical)

* Wet wipes (One Pack – Cannot Share with other students)
PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS PLEASE BE ADVISED:
Students shall not carry or consume medicine (including intra-venous hydration) unless issued by military medical authorities, and specifically approved by a SERE medical official.
All items not on this list will be confiscated! Contact lenses will not be worn during the field (FTL) or resistance (RTL) phase of training. Partial plates or dentures (removable) will not be worn during the RTL phase of training. Any additional equipment (i.e. appropriate clothing and survival equipment) required to complete sere training will be provided.
Any other equipment, commercial or issued, is specifically prohibited! Equipment such as electronic devices, cameras, food, tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, pyrotechnics, firearms, issued survival kits, issued medical kits, sleeping bags, air mattresses, global positioning system devices, civilian clothing, or any other items not listed on the clothing and gear issued by sere west, required personal items, recommended items, or female items only portions of this form will be confiscated, and may result in immediate drop from sere training.
