Commander Joseph O. Lopiccolo

Cmdr. Joseph O. Lopiccolo, a native of Rock Springs, Wyoming, graduated in 2005 from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He earned a Master of Science in Engineering Management from The Catholic University of America.

His operational assignments include division officer aboard USS Louisville (SSN 724), where he deployed to the Western Pacific; and strategic weapon's officer aboard USS Maine (SSBN 741) (Gold), where he conducted five strategic patrols.

His shore tours include operations analyst at OPNAV Staff (N2/N6F21); director, Trident Training Facility Strategic Weapons Department; executive officer, Naval Submarine Training Center Pacific; and undersea desk at U.S. Pacific Fleet Current Operations.

His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 Awards) and various campaign and unit awards.

Lapse in Appropriations: The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sept. 30, 2025.
Military personnel will continue in normal duty status, without pay, until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
