Lieutenant Commander Nicholas J. Bell

A native of Cambridge, New York, Lt. Cmdr. Bell graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and commissioned through Officer Candidate School in 2012.
 
Afloat, Lt. Cmdr. Bell completed his division officer tour aboard USS Texas (SSN 775) serving as Main Propulsion Assistant, Assistant Engineer, and Quality Assurance Officer, qualifying nuclear engineer in 2016. He completed his department head tour aboard USS West Virginia (SSBN 736) (Gold) serving as the Engineer, qualifying for nuclear command in 2024. During his sea tours, he has conducted deployments to the U.S. Fifth and Seventh Fleets as well as two strategic deterrent patrols.
 
Ashore, Lt. Cmdr. Bell served at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command as Officer Math and Physics Division Director and at Trident Training Facility Kings Bay as the Engineer.

He is currently serving at Trident Training Facility Kings Bay as the Executive Officer.
 
Lt. Cmdr. Bell’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards). He is married with two children.
