Lieutenant Commander Shineka Haskins

Lieutenant Commander Shineka Haskins graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Rockford IL, in June 1999. Mindful of the privilege to serve her fellow Americans, she enlisted in the United States Navy on January 27, 2000, and commenced active duty service at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, February 2, 2000.
Upon completion of Recruit Training, Great Lakes, IL, she attended Gunner’s Mate Apprentice School in Great Lakes, IL, where she graduated with honors. In September 2000, Haskins reported to
USS Frank Cable
(AS 40) in Apra Harbor, Guam. During her time onboard AS 40, she was assigned as the Ship’s Armorer and loaded ordnance on various platforms in support of
Operation Enduring Freedom
and
Iraqi Freedom
. In September 2003, she was assigned to
USS Cole
(DDG 67) and served as a Vertical Launching Systems (VLS) technician. In March 2006, Haskins was stationed at Navy Munitions Command East Asia Division Detachment Guam (NMC EAD Det Guam) where she served as the Tomahawk Quick Response Team Leading Petty Officer. In March 2009, she reported onboard
USS Arleigh Burke
(DDG 51) as the Strike Division Leading Petty Officer and Ammunition Accountant. While onboard
USS Arleigh Burke
, she received her commission through the Limited Duty Officer Program in April 2011.

(CVN 77), NAVSEA Fleet Introduction Team as the System Test Officer (STO) and Gunnery Officer, Ship’s Gunner onboard
USS George Washington
(CVN 73), and Weapons Officer and Expeditionary Reloading Team Officer-In-Charge onboard Navy Cargo Handling Battalion One (NCHB-1). She most recently served as the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) for the ATFP support contract and the Readiness and Training Officer for N042 Directorate at U.S Fleet Forces Command.
Lieutenant Commander Haskins’ military training includes: Gunner’s Mate “A” and “C” School, Transportation Hazmat Course, Ammunition Supply Administrator Course, Combat Systems Maintenance Manager Course. She earned an Associates of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Business Management Studies from University of Maryland University College and a Master of Business Administration in Human Resources from Liberty University. She recently earned a certificate in USNORTHCOM Gender/Women in Leadership from Cornell University.
Lieutenant Commander Haskins’ personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Six Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Four Awards), Battle E (Three Awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and various other unit and campaign service awards.
