Senior Chief Quartermaster Luis G. Torres

Senior Chief Quartermaster Torres, a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, graduated from La Superior Urbana High School in 2003.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in January 2007 completing basic instruction at Recruit Training Command and Quartermaster “A” School, Great Lakes, Illinois.
 
His sea assignments include service aboard USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69).  His shore tours include Navy Recruiting District Miami, Florida. 
 
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit commendations.

Lapse in Appropriations: The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sept. 30, 2025.
Military personnel will continue in normal duty status, without pay, until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
