Mr. Mitch Allen

Mitch Allen, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1982, commissioned as a chief warrant officer in 2000 and concluded his active-duty service in 2014 after more than 32 years of service. Allen holds a bachelor’s degree in Professional Aeronautics (minor in aviation safety) from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Business Administration – Logistics from the Naval Postgraduate School.
 
Ashore, Allen served with Fleet Composite Squadron (VC) 8, Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico; Naval Aviation Maintenance Training Detachment, Naval Air Station (NAS) Cecil Field, Florida; Navy Manpower Analysis Center (NAVMAC), Millington, Tennessee; NAS Corpus Christi, Texas; and Bureau of Naval Personnel (BUPERS-3), Millington, Tennessee.
 
His at-sea assignments were all in the strike fighter community: Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 82 and VFA-87, NAS Cecil Field, Florida; VFA-15, NAS Oceana, Virginia; and VFA-137 NAS Lemoore, California. During his VFA tours, he embarked aboard USS Enterprise (CVN 65), USS America (CV 66), USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) and USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). These tours included multiple campaigns including Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and Southern Watch. He was selected as Commander, Strike Fighter Wing Atlantic, Ground Officer of the Year (2001) and Commander, Strike Fighter Wing Pacific, Maintenance / Logistics Officer of the Year (2008).
 
Following retirement from active duty, Allen entered federal civil service in 2014 as the limited duty officer / chief warrant officer assistant community manager. In 2019, he assumed duties as NAVMAC’s deputy director for aviation programs. In January 2020, he assumed his current position as executive director, Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training, Pensacola, Florida.
