Lieutenant Nicholas Gegg

Lt. Gegg, a native of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, enlisted in the Navy in 1998, and after boot camp at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Equipment Operator “A” School in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was commissioned through the Limited Duty Officer Program in November 2012. He earned an Associate of Arts and Construction Technology from Coastline Community College in 2008.
 
His enlisted tours include Alpha Company operations, Amphibious Construction Battalion 2 in Little Creek, Virginia; Basic Underwater Construction Technician School, Naval Diving Salvage and Training Center in Panama City, Florida; and as an underwater construction technician, Underwater Construction Team (UCT) 1, Little Creek.
 
Gegg began his career as a Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) officer at Civil Engineer Corps Officers School in Port Hueneme, California in 2013. His CEC officer tours include 30th Naval Construction Regiment in Port Hueneme and most recently UCT 1 as operations officer (S3).
 
He reported as officer in charge, Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering Det. Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in 2018.
 
Gegg is qualified as a Seabee combat warfare officer and diving officer. His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), Military Outstanding Voluntary Service Medal, and various campaign and unit awards.
