Captain Todd Beltz

Capt. Beltz, a native of Pennsylvania, is a 1989 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Troy State University and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College (NWC). 

At sea, he served as propulsion plant watch officer aboard USS Enterprise (CVN 65); anti-submarine warfare and electronic repair officer aboard USS Estocin (FFG 15); combat systems officer aboard USS Arthur W. Radford (DD 968); chemistry and radiological controls assistant aboard USS Enterprise (CVN 65); executive officer of USS Hayler (DD 997); commanding officer of USS Elrod (FFG 55); deputy operations officer for Carrier Strike Group 5; and executive officer and commanding officer of USS Enterprise (CVN 65). 

His shore assignments include tours at Nuclear Power School, Orlando, Florida; Nuclear Prototype, Ballston Spa, New York; Surface Warfare Officers School Command (SWOS) as an engineering instructor; Commander, Naval Air Force Atlantic as executive officer on the Nuclear Propulsion Mobile Training Team; and as Future Force Structure, Sea Shield, and Sea Basing action officer on the OPNAV staff within the Capability Analysis and Assessment Division (N81). He was the director of fleet training at SWOS; deputy for the strategic research department at NWC; and executive officer of the Naval Leadership and Ethics Center in Newport, Rhode Island, where he currently serves as the executive director. 

Beltz’s personal decorations include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
