Master Chief Religious Program Specialist Bryan Bravo, a native of Whittier, California, enlisted in the Navy in June 2003 and attended boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. He holds an Associate of Supervisory Leadership from Hawaii Pacific University. He is qualified as Enlisted Fleet Marine Force Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Master Training Specialist.
Bravo’s operational tours include Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 154 stationed at Naval Air Station Lemoore, California, and aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). He served multiple operational Marine Corps tours to include 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (3rd MAW) at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, where he deployed with Medium Helicopter Squadron 268 (HMM-268) Casualty Evacuation (CasEvac) in Al Taqqadum, Iraq, and with 3rd MAW forward deployed in Iraq. He served with 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), and deployed aboard USS Boxer (LHD 4). He served as 1st Marine Division, Religious Ministries Department, leading petty officer. Additionally at 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Okinawa, Japan, he served as senior enlisted advisor for the Religious Ministries Department and Navy senior enlisted leader for Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 1.
Bravo’s shore tours include Naval Station Pearl Harbor, Hawaii as the leading petty officer for Religious Ministries; and Field Medical Training Battalion East at Camp Johnson, North Carolina as the senior military instructor for Chaplain and RP Expeditionary Skills Training (CREST). During his time at Field Medical Training Battalion East he was reassigned to serve as the senior enlisted leader and course chief for CREST.
Bravo reported as the senior enlisted leader for the Naval Chaplaincy School in May 2019 in Newport, Rhode Island.
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), Good Conduct Medal (five awards), and Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (two awards).
