Commander Edward A. Fosson

Cmdr. Fosson is a native of Mars Hill, North Carolina and a 2005 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He holds a Master of Arts in Defense and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with an Energy Focus from the Naval Postgraduate School.

Fosson’s operational tours include anti-submarine warfare officer, USS Ingraham (FFG 61); weapons officer, Patrol Coastal Crew ECHO; and assistant operations officer and detachment officer in charge, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 11.

His shore assignments include transportation officer, Submarine Base New London, Connecticut; construction manager, Washington Navy Yard; assistant public works officer, Naval Research Laboratory; public works officer, Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina; and facilities acquisition and management division director at Civil Engineer Corps Officers School (CECOS) in Port Hueneme, California.

Currently, he serves as the executive officer of Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering and CECOS in Port Hueneme, California.

Fosson is qualified in Seabee combat warfare and surface warfare, is a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps. He holds professional credentials as a certified energy manager, project management professional, and Joint Professional Military Education phase 1. He is a member of the Naval Institute, Society of American Military Engineers, Association of Energy Engineers, Project Management Institute, and American Society of Mechanical Engineers. His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards).
