Lieutenant Gayle S. Gauck

Lt. Gauck, a native of Frazee, Minnesota, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2005, and after boot camp at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois, she attended Engineering Aide “A” School in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.  She was then commissioned an ensign through the Limited Duty Officer Program. She holds an associates degree in General Studies from Columbia College.

Her enlisted tours include Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 7 deploying to Kuwait, Japan, and Iraq; Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit 202; Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering (CSFE) Detachment Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; NMCB-11 deploying to Rota, Spain; and an Individual Augmentee assignment to the public works department, Camp Lemmonier, Djibouti, Africa.

Gauck began her career as a civil engineer corps (CEC) officer at Civil Engineer Corps Officers School in Port Hueneme, California with Basic Class 266.  Her first CEC officer tour included NMCB-5 with assignment to Detachment Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia as the liason officer.  Upon return to homeport she was assigned as the assistant training officer.

Gauck reported as officer in charge at CSFE Detachment Sheppard Air Force Base in May 2021.

Gauck is qualified as a Seabee combat warfare officer and an enlisted specialist for Seabee combat warfare, expeditionary warfare, and information warfare. Her personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and other various unit and campaign awards.
