CMDCM Ricardo V. Galvan

Command Master Chief Galvan, a native of Napa, California, graduated from Delano High School in June 1991.  Following high school graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and after recruit training in Orlando, Florida, he completed Electronic Warfare Operator “A” School.  Galvan is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 164 Gold), Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course, and the 2018 Executive Leadership Symposium.   
 
At sea, he served aboard USS McClusky (FFG 41) in Yokosuka, Japan, as an AN/SLQ-32 operator/maintenance man; USS Ashland (LSD 48) as work center supervisor; USS San Jacinto (CG 56) as division leading petty officer; USS Mahan (DDG 72) as division leading chief petty officer (LCPO); and USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) as operations department LCPO.  Deployments include service in the Arabian Gulf, Arabian Sea, Red Sea, Mediterranean, Black Sea, North Atlantic Ocean, and Western Pacific.
 
Ashore, he served as a recruiter for Navy Recruiting District Richmond/Navy Recruiting Station Lynnhaven; direct support LCPO and command administrative/readiness LCPO at Navy Information Operations Command, Georgia; and command senior enlisted leader at Information Warfare Training Command, Corry Station.
 
His command master chief tours include USS Ross (DDG 71) and Cryptologic Warfare Group 6.  In July 2019, Galvan reported to his present assignment as the command master chief for Naval Air Technical Training Center. 
 
Along with multiple unit and campaign awards, Galvan’s personal awards include the Navy Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards).  He is qualified as an enlisted specialist in information, surface and aviation warfare.
