Commander Michael J. Feldhues

Cmdr. Mike Feldhues, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, initiated as a chief petty officer in 2001 and commissioned through the Limited Duty Officer Program in 2003.  He earned his Bachelor of Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, his Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2008, and designated an Acquisition Professional Community member in 2015.
 
His enlisted assignments included Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light (HSL) 31, Naval Air Station (NAS) North Island; HSL-37, NAS Barbers Point, Hawaii; and HSL-51 in Atsugi, Japan.     
 
As an officer, he served as the quality assurance officer, maintenance/material control officer, and assistant maintenance officer with Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 134, completing two deployments to Bagram, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; as maintenance/material control officer and assistance maintenance officer with VAQ-136, deploying with USS George Washington (CVN 73), leading the homeport change and transition to the EA-18G Growler; and as Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5 maintenance officer where he deployed with USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) and oversaw the homeport change from Naval Air Facility Atsugi, Japan to Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan. He was then assigned to Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Detachment, Atsugi, Japan, as the officer in charge.
  
He currently serves as the commanding officer, Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit North Island.
 
His awards include the Meritorious Service Award, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (seven awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), Combat Action Ribbon (two awards), and various unit awards and campaign medals.
