Eric Stailey

Mr. Eric Stailey is the executive director for Mariner Skills Training Center, Pacific, where he is responsible for various training divisions, encompassed by providing continuous high-level, trusted advice and technical assistance regarding oversight to all command personnel in all aspects of curriculum development, maintenance, administrative and analysis.  He supports training development programs that affect all surface fleet in navigation, seamanship, and shiphandling training and educational components that support naval operational forces, from the perspective of shore-based infrastructures to the quality of naval personnel who man the fleet, as well as other Department of Defense (DoD) military services, foreign military, and DoD civilian personnel.
 
Prior to his current assignment, he was a naval safety analyst at Commander, Naval Surface U. S. Pacific Fleet, where he provided operational safety analysis and technical insight to safety mishaps to the operational safety officer (OSO), Surface Force Operational Safety Program.  From 2014 to 2018, he worked at Commander, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona Division, as an acquisition and readiness assessment analyst.  He was responsible for multiple aspects of life cycle readiness and quality and mission assurance support for the surface community and provided sensitivity analysis of material readiness to evaluate future and exiting corrective actions and modernization for the surface fleet.  Most notable was his role in the procurement of Naval Sea Systems Command development, implementation and management of the Readiness Common Operating Picture (R-COP) and Current Ship’s Maintenance Project (CSMP) Business Intelligence (BI) websites. 
 
Over 21 years of an active-duty career in the U.S. Navy, he served within the enlisted ranks prior to becoming a surface warfare officer.  His assignments aboard various commands at sea included USS Independence (LCS 2), USS Rushmore (LSD 47), USS Princeton (CG 59), USS Merrill (DD 976) and USS Prairie (AD 15).  His shore duties were limited while advancing his education through the Enlisted Education Advancement Program at Palomar Community College and Enlisted Commissioning Program at San Diego State University. 
 
He has a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from San Diego State University and a Master of Arts in Public Administration from American Military University.
