Seabee Master Chief Angel D. Cano

Seabee Master Chief Cano, a native of El Paso, Texas, joined the U.S. Navy in September 2000.  Upon completion of basic training, he attended Steelworker “A” School in Gulfport, Mississippi.  He has an associate’s degree and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management.

His operational assignments include Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 40 where he deployed to Spain, Japan, Iraq, Kuwait, Philippines, and Thailand; 31st Seabee Readiness Group where he was assigned as a convoy security element instructor and field training exercise leading petty officer; NMCB-40 once more where he deployed to Afghanistan and Japan; NMCB-5 where he was assigned as detail Philippines assistant officer in charge; and NMCB-4 where he deployed to the Philippines, Guam, and Japan as the battalion operations chief.

His training tours include Naval Construction Training Center Port Hueneme, California where he was assigned as the steelworker schoolhouse director and Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering (CSFE) fleet liaison.

Currently, Cano serves as the Seabee readiness division instructor at Civil Engineer Corps Officers School while temporarily holding the position of acting command master chief of CSFE.

Cano is a Seabee combat warfare specialist and master training specialist.  His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards) and various campaign and unit awards.
