Lieutenant Commander Steven Soares

Lt. Cmdr. Steven Soares, a native of Coral Springs, Florida, is a 2010 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Science. He earned a master’s degree from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut.

At sea, Soars served as ordnance officer aboard USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55); navigator aboard USS Shoup (DDG 86); and plans and tactics officer and combat systems officer aboard USS Preble (DDG 88).

Ashore, he served as N35 future operations officer and squadron navigator aboard Littoral Combat Ship Squadron (LCSRON) 2 in Mayport, Florida.

His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
