Commander Keith W. King

Commander Keith W. King is a native of Sunset, Texas.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1991 and started his naval career at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Ill., followed by the fireman apprentice course.  King was promoted to chief petty officer in September 2002 and was commissioned in 2005 under the limited duty officer program.

His enlisted assignments include positions aboard USS Cape Cod (AD 43),  aboard Aviation Boatswains Mate Fuels (ABF) “A” school in Millington, Tenn., aboard USS Belleau Wood (LHA 3),  aboard VT 21 in Kingsville, Texas, aboard USS Nashville (LPD 13) and aboard Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Ill.

King's commissioned officer assignments include limited duty officer and chief warrant officer at the Academy aboard Officer Training Command in Pensacola, aboard Fla., USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) in Jacksonville, Florida; USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74);, aboard Naval Recruiting District, San Antonio, Texas, aboard USS BonHomme Richard (LHD 6), aboard CNATTU Norfolk, aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) for a second tour, and aboard Naval Aviation Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, New Jersey. 

King currently serves as executive officer, Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit Whidbey Island, Wash. 

His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (seven awards) and various unit commendations, campaign ribbons and awards.
