Chief Aviation Machinist's Mate Ethan R. Weirich

Chief Aviation Machinist’s Mate Ethan R. Weirich, a Cleveland, Ohio, native, enlisted in the U.S. Navy August 2012.  Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to Naval Aviation Technical Training Center, Pensacola, Florida where he completed Aviation Machinist's Mate “A” School in January 2013.
 
His operational assignments include Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 122, stationed at Naval Air Station Lemoore, California, where he earned multiple qualifications including enlisted air warfare specialist and was selected as the Blue Jacket of the Year for 2014.  In 2015, Weirich transferred to VFA-102, stationed at Naval Air Facility Atsugi, Japan.  Over the next four years, Weirich completed four Indo-Asian Pacific deployments, was meritoriously advanced to petty officer first class, and was selected as the Senior Sailor of the Year for 2018.
 
Ashore, he transferred In May 2019 to the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Detachment (CNATT Det.) Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, to serve as an instructor for F-35B/C power plants and related systems.  He was selected to the rank of chief petty officer in January 2021 and qualified as master training specialist in March 2021.
 
He currently serves as the senior enlisted leader at CNATT Det. Eglin.
 
His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal (three awards).
