Command Master Chief Alonso Cadena

Master Chief Alonso Cadena is a native of Guanajuato, Mexico and was raised in San Diego, California. He joined the U.S. Navy and reported to Recruit Training Command Orland, Fla., in March 1993 and graduated Builder “A” School in Gulfport, Mississippi in September 1993.  He is pursuing a degree in Construction Technology through Coastline Community College.
 
Cadena's duty assignments as a navy builder include Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 3, Port Hueneme, Calif.; project supervisor at Naval Station Kingsville; aviation boatswain’s mate (fuel handler) instructor at 31st Naval Construction Regiment (NCR), Port Hueneme, Cali.; quality control and detachment officer in charge and operations chief (S3C) at NMCB 40; Pacific operations chief at 30th NCR; and company chief (C5) at NMCB 4, Port Hueneme, Calif. 
 
Cadena was selected for Command Master Chief in 2016. His assignments as Command Master Chief include positions with NMCB 3 aboard Port Hueneme, Calif., and with 30th Naval Construction Regiment, Santa Rita Guam. He currently serves as Command Master Chief for Seabees and Facilities Engineering.
 
Cadena is a Seabee Combat Warfare and Expeditionary Warfare qualified  His decorations include the Meritorious Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal (five awards), Army Commendation Medal (two awards), navy Achievement Medal (three awards) and various campaign and unit awards.
