Commander Christopher D. Breckenridge

Cmdr. Breckenridge, a native of Slidell, Louisiana, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1990 and served in the signalman and master-at-arms ratings.  He earned his commission in 2003 after completing limited duty officer school, and he has a bachelor’s degree in security management. He also attended the 238th session of the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy in 2009.
 
His at sea and operational tours include the USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), USNS Pecos (TAO 197), and the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70).  During his tenure aboard CVN 70, he served as the ship’s security officer during an “Around the World” deployment.  He served as the security department head aboard the USS Nimitz (CVN 69), leading a department of 180 Navy Security Force professionals providing security for the 90,000-ton vessel.
 
His shore assignments include Administrative Support Activity Bahrain, Naval Security Forces, Naval Submarine Base in Bangor, Washington, and Mobile Security Detachment 26.  As the boat division commander, he served a tour with Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Six, Boat Division 61. He served as the bravo company commander at Marine Corps Security Force Company at Kings Bay, Georgia, the leading expert for deploying counter-unmanned aerial systems at Strategic Systems Programs at the Washington Navy Yard.  During his tenure with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, he served as liaison officer on all nuclear weapons security and compliance issues.  He also served as the regional security officer at Commander, Navy Region Northwest, and as the executive officer at Naval Technical Training Center Lackland.
 
He reported as Commanding Officer, Naval Technical Training Center Lackland, in June 2023.

His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy Commendation Medal (seven awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), and Army Achievement Medal
