Command Master Chief Andrew Rockman

Command Master Chief Andrew L. Rockman is a native of Defuniak Springs, Florida. He graduated from Walton Senior High School in 1995 and enlisted in the Navy in December 1996, completing the nuclear pipeline course in November 1998. He is a specialist in submarine warfare.

His early sea tour was the USS Louisiana (SSBN 743) (Gold) in Kings Bay, Georgia, as a member of electrical division from February 2001 to February 2005. He served as electrical division leading petty officer and was advanced to chief petty officer in September 2004. Following selection to chief petty officer, he served as the assistant lead instructor of the Navy’s first Fleet Interactive Display Equipment at Trident Training Facility Kings Bay, Georgia, from March 2005 to July 2008. He served as the leading chief petty officer aboard USS Florida (SSGN 728) (Blue) in Kings Bay, Georgia, from August 2008 to October 2012, where he completed qualifications as engineering department master chief. From November 2012 to September 2015 he served as the electrical division leading petty officer for the MTS-635 at Nuclear Power Training Unit Charleston, South Carolina. He was selected to senior chief petty officer in April 2013. From October 2015 to March 2019 he served as engineering department master chief aboard USS Alaska (SSBN 732) (Blue) in Kings Bay, Georgia. Where he was selected to master chief petty officer in June 2017. From April 2019 to April 2022 he served as the Senior Off-Crew Instructor at Nuclear Power Training Unit Charleston, South Carolina.

He assumed duties as command master chief for  Naval Education and Training Professional Development Center in May 2022.

HIs personal awards include the the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards).
